3. According to its use and characteristics, it can also be divided into the following categories
(1) Rigid connection (commonly used).
(2) Flexible connection (commonly used in low speed and heavy load conditions).
(3) Semiflexible and gapless connections (commonly used in high speed and light load conditions).
(4) Rubber tire type coupling device with cushioning and vibration reduction capabilities.
(5) Use new materials or newly manufactured special non-metallic elastic elements for flexible connecting transmission parts.
(6) Other types: such as roller chain wheel sets, slider chain transmission mechanisms, etc.
The function of the coupling:

The advantages of parallel axis motors are compact structure, small size, light weight, high efficiency, long service life, simple maintenance, convenient installation, and other advantages; However, its disadvantage is that when the input torque is too large, it is prone to slip and even cause damage; In addition, it cannot operate in the forward and reverse directions but can only rotate in one direction, and the rotational speed range is generally not more than 3000 rpm; Moreover, there are a series of problems to be solved, such as loud noise, large vibration, and difficult maintenance!
